Description
The Halden is a slim vertical wall light for the outside of a house, finished in matte black aluminium with a soft acrylic diffuser running its full length. It throws light up and down the wall rather than glaring outward, so the effect is a warm wash across brick, render or timber instead of a hard bright spot. Mounted in pairs either side of a door it frames an entrance properly.
It suits a front door, a porch, a garden wall, a patio or the side of a garage. The diffuser softens the LED so there is no visible bulb and no hotspot, which is the difference between lighting a wall and simply putting a lamp on it. Because the light is directed at the surface, it gives usable visibility on a path or step without flooding a neighbour's window.
The body is cast aluminium with a powder coated finish, chosen because it does not rust and holds its colour through wet winters and direct sun. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to replace. It is rated for outdoor use and wires into a standard fixed outdoor connection, mounting flat against the wall on a concealed backplate.

Frequently asked questions
Which length should I choose?
It runs from 55 cm up to 120 cm. A pair of the 55 cm or 80 cm sits either side of a standard front door without crowding it. The 100 cm and 120 cm are meant for a wide blank wall, a garage elevation or a feature wall where you want the line of light to read from a distance.
Which colour temperature works best outside?
Warm 3000K is the safe choice for brick, timber and traditional houses, and it is the one most people pick for a front door. White 6000K is the brighter of the two and reads as security lighting. That suits a driveway, a side return or a garage elevation rather than an entrance you walk up to every evening.
Can it go on a wall with no shelter over it?
Yes. It is IP65 rated, which means it is sealed against dust and against water jetted at it from any direction, so driving rain on an exposed elevation is within what it is built for. It mounts flat to the wall on a concealed backplate rather than standing off it.
Does it plug in, or does it need wiring?
It is hardwired, so it connects to a fixed outdoor supply rather than a socket. There is no plug and no visible cable. If you do not already have an outdoor point on that wall, an electrician will need to run one, and it is worth deciding on the length before they set the position.
Will I ever need to change the bulb?
No. The LED is integrated into the body, so there is no bulb to buy, no fitting to match and nothing to unscrew. That is also why the light looks even along its whole length: the diffuser covers the diodes completely, so you see a continuous line rather than a row of bright points.
