The Ashby is a frosted glass globe sconce that takes a standard E26 bulb. The frosting spreads the light evenly in every direction rather than throwing it up or down, which is what makes it suit a covered porch, a hallway or a workshop where you want general light rather than a directed beam.
Several shade profiles are offered, listed as styles A through E, with A and B also available in a larger size. They share the same fitting and the same frosted glass, and differ in the shape and depth of the globe, so pick on proportion: the larger sizes suit a generous porch or a double height hallway, the smaller ones a tight landing or a workshop wall where a big globe would crowd the space.
Because it takes a standard E26 bulb rather than an integrated LED, you choose the brightness and the colour temperature yourself, and you replace a bulb rather than the fixture years from now. You can order it with a warm white or a cold white bulb included, or with no bulb if you already have one you prefer. This fitting is splash rated rather than fully weatherproof, so it belongs under a porch roof or indoors, not on an exposed wall.
