Description

The Marlow Compact is a small outdoor wall light in white or black, built for the low positions where a full sized sconce would be out of scale. A step riser, a fence panel, a low garden wall, the side of a planter. It sits close to the surface and throws its light downward.

Three outputs are offered in each finish. The 4W is a marker, enough to show where a step edge is without lighting the whole area. The 6W is the middle choice and suits a fence run or a low wall. The 7W is the brightest and is the one to use where the fitting has to actually light something rather than just indicate it.

Two colour temperatures are available across all six versions. Warm white is soft and yellow and flatters brick, timber and stone, which is usually what you want along a garden boundary. Cool white is crisper and more functional, better suited to steps you need to see clearly on a dark night. The body is aluminium, the LED is integrated so there is no bulb to replace, and the housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions.

  • Compact aluminium body in white or black
  • 4W, 6W or 7W output in either finish
  • Warm white or cool white
  • Downward light, suited to low positions
  • Integrated LED, no replaceable bulb
  • IP65 rated, hardwired 110 to 120V and 220 to 240V

Marlow Compact LED Wall Light, White Black Gold IP65 Waterproof LED Ou

Along A Boundary Wall

Full exposure is fine, so no overhang and no soffit are needed. For a run of several along a boundary wall, 183 to 244 cm apart gives an even wash without obvious dark gaps. Around 183 cm high for a path, lower for steps.

Outdoor lighting in use

Genuine Wall Light Output

One body style draws five watts for around five hundred lumens, another four watts for four hundred. That is real wall light rather than accent glow, enough to mark a door, light a short flight of steps, or run along a fence line at intervals.

Seven Finishes, Three Small Bodies

White, black, silver, green, marble, white with gold and white with black. That range is unusual at this size and it matters, because a small sconce is often chosen to disappear into a wall rather than stand out from it. The aluminium body arrives preassembled.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy bulbs for it?

No. The LEDs are built in, so there is no bulb to buy and none to replace later. That also means the colour of the light is fixed rather than something you choose at the shop. One body style draws five watts for around five hundred lumens, another four watts for four hundred lumens.

Can I mount it on a wall with no shelter above?

Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, which means full exposure is fine. No overhang, no soffit and no shelter are required, so an open garden wall, a fence line or a facade that takes the full weather all suit it. That is what makes it usable along a boundary where there is nothing overhead to protect it.

How far apart should I space them along a wall?

For a run of several along a boundary wall, 183 to 244 cm apart gives an even wash without obvious dark gaps between fixtures. Closer than that and the pools overlap heavily; further and the wall reads spotted. Set the mounting height at around 183 cm for a path, and lower where you are lighting steps.

How bright is it really?

Brighter than most fixtures this size. One body style gives around five hundred lumens from five watts, another four hundred from four watts. That is genuine wall light rather than accent glow: enough to mark a door, light a set of steps, or run along a fence line at intervals and actually see by.

Which finish and output should I choose?

White or black, each in 4W, 6W or 7W. The 4W is a marker, enough to show a step edge without lighting the whole area. The 6W suits a fence run or a low wall. The 7W is the one to use where the fitting has to actually light something rather than just indicate it.
