The Rowan takes its shape from a bamboo joint, a short horizontal cylinder with a raised band around the middle and a glass panel at each end. It is a small piece of styling on an otherwise plain fixture, and it works because it gives the light somewhere to catch. Where a flat bar would read as a strip, this reads as an object with form to it.

At 15 cm wide and 8 cm high it is compact, suited to a doorway, a fence panel, a garden wall or a run along a covered passage. The 500 lumen output puts a soft pool of light above and below the fixture rather than flooding the whole elevation, which is usually what you want close to a door where people are standing.

Black and white finishes are both available. The body is aluminium with a glass shade, and the LED is integrated so there is nothing to replace over its life. The housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions with nothing overhead, and it hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection. Fitted in a row along a boundary it gives an even, unfussy line of light. The raised band also hides the joint line, which keeps the fixture looking clean up close.
