Description
The Merrick is a plain aluminium block that throws light up the wall and down it. It is a quiet, squared off shape that does not compete with the building, which is exactly what you want on a modern facade where the light should read as part of the architecture rather than as a fitting stuck to it.
At around 10 cm wide and 20 cm high it is a mid sized fixture. Mounted in a run along a facade the twin beams draw a rhythm of light and shadow up the surface. Beside a single door it frames the entrance without dominating it. Output is 900 lumens split up and down, which lights the wall properly rather than just marking it.
The body is aluminium and the LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to replace. The housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions with nothing overhead. It hardwires to a standard fixed connection and accepts a wide 85 to 265 volt input, so supply variation is not an issue.

Frequently asked questions
How is it switched?
From a normal wall switch on the circuit it is wired to. It is a plain hardwired sconce with no app, no remote and no sensor, so it comes on and goes off with the switch that feeds it. If you want it to run on a schedule, fit a timer or a photocell at the switch rather than expecting it from the fixture.
Is there a bulb to replace?
No. The LED is integrated into the aluminium body, so there is no lamp to source and none to change over its working life. The trade off is that you choose the output and colour once, at the point of order, rather than being able to change it later by fitting a different bulb.
Can it go on a fully exposed wall?
Yes. It is sealed to IP65, which means it is rated for full exposure with nothing overhead. A gable end, a garage side or an open facade is fine, rather than needing a porch roof or a deep overhang to get through a wet winter.
