Description

The Kelby is a tapered aluminium block that narrows towards the wall, sending one beam up and another down. The taper is the useful part: angling the faces outward widens the spread of both beams, so a single fixture covers noticeably more wall than a straight sided box would from the same mounting position and the same output. The taper also sheds rain away from the wall rather than channelling it down the face.

At 11 cm wide and 18 cm high it is a mid sized sconce, tall enough to have presence beside a door without dominating a narrow pier. The 1000 lumen output on the 10W version is a good general purpose figure for exterior work: enough to light an entrance properly and mark a path, without being so bright that it flattens the texture of the wall it is mounted on.

Two finishes are offered, black and white. White in particular sits well against render, light stone and modern cladding where black can look heavy. The body is aluminium with an integrated LED, so there is nothing to replace, and the housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions. It hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection. It is the most generally useful shape here if you only want to buy one type.

Kelby Trapezoid Sconce, Black White Grey IP65 Waterproof LED Up Down O

Made For Entrance Walls

Mounted beside a front door or on a garden wall, it throws light up and down at the same time, marking the entrance and lighting the ground underfoot. At 11 cm wide it sits comfortably on a narrow pier.

Outdoor lighting in use

Two Beams, Wider Spread

The outward angle of the faces spreads both beams wider than a straight sided box would, so one fixture covers noticeably more wall. At 1000 lumens it lights an entrance properly without flattening the texture of the brick or render behind it.

Sealed Body, Nothing To Replace

The body is aluminium with the LED built in, so there is no bulb to source and nothing to open up later. The taper sheds rain away from the wall, and the housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions.

Frequently asked questions

Which of the two finishes should I pick?

Black and white are offered. White sits well against render, light stone and modern cladding, where black can look heavy on a pale wall. Black suits darker brick and timber and disappears against it in daylight. Both use the same aluminium body and both are offered at 10W and 1000 lumens.

Which output suits a doorway?

The Kelby is offered at 6W and at 10W. The 10W gives 1000 lumens split between the upward and downward beams, which lights an entrance properly without flattening the texture of the brick or render behind it. The 6W draws less and suits a small porch or a sheltered doorway where the wall is close. Keep one output across a whole facade so the wall looks consistent.

Can it go on a wall with nothing overhead?

Yes. The housing is sealed to IP65, which covers fully exposed positions. The tapered profile also sheds rain away from the wall rather than channelling it down the face, so the brick or render below stays cleaner over time. It hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection rather than running from a plug.

Is there a bulb to buy or replace?

No. The LED is integrated into the aluminium body, so there is nothing to source and nothing to open up later. The 10W version produces 1000 lumens split between the upward and downward beams, and a 6W version is also offered. You choose the type, the finish and the output when you order rather than by changing a bulb afterwards.

How much wall does a single fixture cover?

The angled faces widen both beams, so one unit covers noticeably more wall than a straight sided box from the same mounting position and the same output. At 11 cm wide and 18 cm high it is mid sized, tall enough to have presence beside a door without dominating a narrow pier.
