Description

The Dalton is a cube up and down sconce that throws a clean pair of beams onto the wall above and below it. It is a simple shape that suits a modern front door, a gate pier or a fence post, and because the light goes onto the wall rather than out at eye level it stays comfortable to walk past.

Two sizes are offered. The small at 7W is right for a fence post, a narrow pier or a run of fittings spaced along a boundary, where you want the rhythm of repeated light rather than brightness from any one of them. The large at 12W is the better proportion beside a front door or on a wider facade, and puts down enough light to actually see a key or a step by.

Three colour temperatures are available on both sizes. Warm white is soft and yellow and suits a front door or a courtyard. Neutral white sits in the middle and is the safest choice across mixed brick and render. Cold white is crisp and reads as a more functional, modern light. The housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions and hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection.

Dalton Cube Wall Sconce, Black Gold IP65 Waterproof LED Up Down Outdoo

A Pair Beside The Door

Mounted either side of a front door the pair frame the entrance and light the step. The same cube works on a fence post or repeated along a boundary wall, because it reads as part of the building rather than as a lamp.

Outdoor lighting in use

Gold Reflector, Warmer Light

On the black with gold and white with gold versions the internal reflector is gold rather than silver. The beam picks up that warmth on the way out and a subtle glow sits at each aperture, which softens the light falling on brick or render.

Aluminium Throughout, Sealed Shut

Body and shade are aluminium and the LED is built in, so there is no lamp holder to corrode and no bulb to change on a ladder. It arrives preassembled and hardwires to a fixed outdoor connection, which keeps installation to one job.

Frequently asked questions

Which colour temperature should I pick?

Three are offered on both sizes. Warm white is soft and yellow and suits a front door or a courtyard. Neutral white sits in the middle and is the safest choice across mixed brick and render. Cold white is crisp and reads as a more functional, modern light.

Should I choose the small or the large?

The small at 7W is right for a fence post, a narrow pier or a run of fittings along a boundary, where the effect comes from the rhythm rather than from any one light. The large at 12W is the better proportion beside a front door and puts down enough light to see a key or a step by.

Is one enough to light a driveway?

No. At 600 lumens the Dalton is sized for a doorway, a fence post or a repeated run along a boundary rather than covering an open driveway from a single point. If you want a driveway lit, plan a run of several fixtures spaced along the wall or boundary rather than relying on one.

Can I mount it with no cover overhead?

Yes. The housing is sealed to IP65, which is rated for wet locations, so it can go on a fully exposed wall, gate pier or fence post with nothing above it. That is the reason to choose it over a fixture that needs a porch roof or an overhang to stay dry.

Does it take a bulb, and how does it wire in?

There is no bulb. The LED is integrated into the aluminium body, so nothing is replaced over its working life. The fixture arrives preassembled and hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection, which means it wants a switched supply at the wall rather than a socket or a plug lead.
