One Design, Four Sizes
The small measures 15 cm wide and the extra large 32 cm. That lets the same design run from a narrow side door to a wide double garage front without the house looking mismatched.
Even Glow, Comfortable Nearby
The diffuser spreads light across the whole face instead of letting it escape as a bright point, so nothing glares when you sit close. That even glow is the reason to choose a diffused lantern over a bare bulb fitting on a terrace you actually sit out on.
Easy To Live With
The acrylic face wipes clean with a damp cloth and the aluminium frame is rated IP65, so nothing above it is required. It takes one E27 bulb, which means you can change the output or colour later without changing the fixture.
Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose?
Three are offered. The small suits a narrow pier or a run of several fittings along a boundary wall. The medium is the general purpose choice and sits well beside a gate or on a driveway wall. The large is a substantial fitting and is right on a tall pier or a wide entrance, where the smaller sizes would look mean.
Can it be dimmed?
That depends entirely on the bulb you fit and the circuit, not on the fixture. It is a plain E27 socket with no dimming built in, so if you want to dim it you need a bulb marked dimmable and a compatible dimmer on the circuit. A standard non dimmable LED will usually flicker or buzz on a dimmer.
What bulb does it take?
A standard E26 bulb, and none is included, so you choose the brightness and colour temperature yourself and replace a bulb rather than the whole fixture years from now. A warm bulb suits the diffused shade far better than a cool one, which tends to make the whole panel look grey.
Can it go on an exposed wall?
Yes. It is rated IP65 and can take full exposure with nothing above it, so a gable end or an open garage wall is fine as well as a sheltered porch. The frame is aluminium with an acrylic diffuser, finished in black, and it wires to a switched outdoor circuit in the usual way.
What is the face made of and how do I clean it?
The diffuser is acrylic and it wipes clean with a damp cloth. That is worth doing once or twice a year, because a film of dust or pollen across a diffused face dulls the whole fixture rather than showing as a mark in one spot. The frame around it is aluminium in a black finish.
