Description
The Vance is a curved column sconce that washes light up and down the wall in a soft double arc. The curve is what separates it from a plain cube: the beams spread as they travel, so the shape on the wall is wider and softer, which suits a front door or a porch where a hard edged pool would look severe.
Four finishes are offered, each in two sizes. Black and white are the plain options and sit quietly against a matching facade. Black gold and white gold carry a warm metallic trim along the edge, which catches daylight and gives the fitting some presence by day as well as after dark.
The small size suits a fence post, a narrow pier or a run of fittings along a boundary. The large is the better proportion beside a front door or on a wide facade, where the small one would read as an afterthought. All eight versions run warm white at 3000K, which is the tone that flatters brick, render and timber. The housing is sealed to IP65 for fully exposed positions and hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection.

At 28 cm high the Vance has enough presence to hold a doorway on its own rather than needing a matched pair. On a plain entrance it gives the wall a vertical line in daylight and a generous stretch of light after dark.
The Bend Spreads Light
Because the upper section leans away from the wall, the upward beam is thrown out over the surface instead of running straight up the face. That covers more wall than a straight column of the same height, which is the practical reason for the shape.
Die Cast, Gold Apertures
Die cast aluminium is heavier than folded sheet, and you feel it in the edges and the weight in your hand. The gold appears at the apertures rather than across the body, so it warms the beam without turning the fixture into an ornament.

What does the curve in the column do?
The upper section leans slightly away from the wall, which throws the upward beam out over the surface rather than straight up the face. The result is a considerably wider spread of light than a straight column of the same height would give, and a profile you can read on the wall in daylight.
How big is it and how much light does it produce?
It is 10 cm wide and 28 cm high, so it is a tall fixture rather than a compact one. Output is 10W and 1000 lumens, split up and down, which covers a generous stretch of wall above and below and is enough for a single fixture to hold a doorway.
What fixings does it need?
It has a flat wall mount and hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection. It is a heavier fixture than it looks because of the die cast construction, so use fixings rated for the weight and suited to your wall material rather than whatever happens to be in the drawer.
Can it go on an exposed wall, and is there a bulb?
It is weather rated for exposed positions, so it does not need an overhang above it and can go on an open elevation or a gate pier. There is no bulb to worry about either. The LED is integrated into the die cast body, so nothing needs replacing over its working life.
