Description

The Wexford is a horizontal aluminium block that sends one wash of light up the wall and another down it, with the source recessed so you never see the diode itself. It is the most useful shape in outdoor lighting for a reason: two beams from one fixture cover far more wall than a single downlight and give an elevation real depth after dark rather than a flat lit patch.

At 20 cm wide it has enough presence to anchor a door surround, and two output levels let you match it to the job in hand. The 12W version suits a porch or a garden wall. The 24W version at 2400 lumens has the power for a driveway, a large gable or a double garage where a smaller fixture would simply look lost against the wall.

The body is aluminium in black or white with an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to source or change. It is weather rated for fully exposed positions with nothing overhead and hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection. Mounted in pairs either side of an entrance it is the fixture most people picture when they think of modern exterior lighting. A matched pair is almost always better than a single fixture on its own.

Wexford Up Down Wall Light, Black IP65 Waterproof LED Outdoor Wall Sco

Anchors A Door Surround

At 20 cm wide it has enough presence to hold its own beside a front door. Mounted as a matched pair either side of an entrance it frames the opening in a way a single fixture never does.

Recessed Source, No Glare

The diode is set back inside the body, so what you see is two washes of light on the wall and never the source itself. That gives an elevation real depth after dark instead of one flat lit patch.

Sized For Big Walls

The 12W at 1200 lumens suits a porch or a garden wall. The 24W at 2400 lumens has the output for a driveway, a large gable or a double garage, where a smaller fixture would simply look lost.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 12W or 24W?

Match it to the wall. The 12W version at 1200 lumens is right for a porch, a front door or a garden wall. The 24W at 2400 lumens is for a driveway, a large gable or a double garage, where the extra output stops the fixture looking undersized against a big blank elevation.

Do I need two of them?

Not strictly, but a matched pair either side of an entrance is almost always better than a single fixture on its own. The pair frames the door and balances the elevation. Along a driveway or a long wall, evenly spaced fixtures give a rhythm that one bright light in the middle cannot.

Which colour temperature suits which spot?

Every version is offered in warm light at 3000K or white light at 5000K. Warm 3000K suits a front door and brickwork and reads as domestic and welcoming. White 5000K is crisper and works better on a driveway, a garage or a modern rendered elevation where the light has a practical job to do.

Can it be fitted where rain hits it directly?

Yes. It is IP65 weather rated for fully exposed positions with nothing overhead, so an open front elevation, a gable or a driveway wall is fine. It hardwires to a standard fixed outdoor connection, which means a cable at each mounting point rather than an outdoor socket.

Is there a bulb to buy?

No. The LED is integrated into the aluminium body on both the 12W and 24W versions, so there is nothing to source now and nothing to change later on a wall you would need a ladder to reach. The body is offered in black or white to suit the elevation.
