Marks The Step Edge
Just under 17 cm tall and 7 cm wide, it shows you where a step, a low wall or a path edge is without becoming a feature. Mount it at knee height or below so the beam crosses the surface rather than hitting your eyes.
Honest Accent Light Only
Output is one watt and roughly one hundred lumens. That is enough to show you the edge of a step on a dark night, and it is not enough to light a driveway. Judge it as accent light and it does exactly what it promises.
Stainless Face, Two Screws
A brushed stainless face over a moulded ABS and polycarbonate body, held on with two screws into timber, brick or render. There is no cable to chase and no junction box to find, so the far end of a path is as easy as the front step.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose warm light or white light?
Both come on the same brushed stainless body. The warm 3000K option suits timber steps, brick and planting, and keeps a garden feeling soft after dark. The 5000K white option reads crisper and more functional, which suits stainless steel against modern render or a utility route down the side of a shed. Neither changes the output, only the tone.
Will it light a path or a driveway?
No. It draws one watt and gives roughly one hundred lumens, which is accent light rather than area light. It will show you where the edge of a step or a low wall is on a dark night, but it will not illuminate a driveway. If you want a lit route, use several along it rather than expecting one to cover the ground.
Does it need any wiring?
None at all. A small solar panel on the top face charges the internal cell through the day and the motion sensor switches the light on when something moves in front of it. That makes it workable at the far end of a garden path, the side of a shed, or a set of timber steps where no cable reaches.
How do I get the best run time out of it?
Position it where it catches direct afternoon sun, because the panel is small and the cell only holds what it gathers. In winter the shorter days mean shorter evening run times, so a spot in permanent shade under a hedge or a north facing wall will disappoint. Keep the top face clear of leaves and grime through autumn.
What is it made of and how does it fix on?
The face is brushed stainless steel and the body behind it is moulded ABS and polycarbonate. It is sealed to IP65, so full exposure outdoors is fine. Two screws hold it to timber, brick or render, and because it is just under 17 cm tall it stays discreet on any of them.
