Description
The Meadowlark is a small solar stake light in an aged green finish, made to push into a border or a planter and light the planting around it from below. It is a decorative fitting rather than a path light: the point is the glow it throws up into leaves and stems, not how far it reaches.
It is sold as a pack of two or a pack of four, and the pack size matters more than it looks. One or two on their own read as an accident. Four spaced along a border, roughly a metre apart, give the rhythm that makes the effect work, and that is how most people end up using them.
Each light charges through the day and switches on at dusk by itself. There is no wiring, no transformer and no timer, so siting is the only decision that matters: they need several hours of direct sun to run through an evening. In deep shade under a shrub, or on a north facing border, expect them to run flat early. That is how all solar lighting behaves and is not a fault.

How bright is it?
Very low by design. Output is roughly nine lumens from 0.09W, which reads as a warm point of light along a border after dusk and nothing more. This is decoration that happens to glow, not a fixture you would choose to see by. Set expectations there and it does the job; expect a path light and it will disappoint.
Does it need any wiring?
None. It runs on a small 1.2V solar cell and needs no wiring, no switch and no groundwork beyond pushing it into soft ground or fixing it to a fence panel. Place it where it will catch several hours of direct sun through the day, because a shaded panel means a short evening once the light goes.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. It is sealed to IP65 and can stay outside year round, so there is no need to lift it before winter. Do keep the solar cell on the top face clear of fallen leaves and soil splash, since anything covering it directly shortens how long the light runs after dusk.
Will the finish fade over time?
The aged finish is meant to weather further rather than stay factory fresh. A little patina after a season is the fixture behaving as intended, not a fault, and it settles the iron body into a planted border better than a bright new finish would. The body is iron with ABS components.
